The option to 'put a little aside' allows you to specify an amount to pay in addition to your regular rent payments. The additional amount will be held as a rent balance that will accumulate with each rent payment. This option does not pay your rent in advance and into the future.
If a rent payment fails and you fall into arrears, your rent balance will be automatically reduced by the amount owing and receipted towards rent. There is no limit on the amount of money that can be accrued.
This process is controlled by you in your tenant app/portal and cannot be completed by your property manager. You must have existing Direct Debit (bank account) or Card details registered for rent payments before setting up additional payments.
How to set up additional rent payments
Log in to your tenant mobile app or desktop portal.
Steps:
-
Select 'RENT' from the menu
-
Press the button 'I want to pay more'
-
Select 'For Rent'
-
Press 'Rent Buffer'
-
Choose 'Set a little aside'
-
Enter in the extra $ amount you wish to pay. This is the additional amount only. Do not include your normal rent amount here.
-

What happens next?
Upon your next rent payment, and all rent payments moving forward, the extra amount will be charged on top of your regular rent amount and held as a balance. You will be advised of the total amount being deducted prior to each payment.
The extra amount is paid using the same nominated payment method (Direct debit/card) as your rent. This option is available for Direct Debit and Card payments only.
To stop the extra payments, follow steps 1- 5 as above and change the extra amount to $0.
