The Tenancy Wallet option will create a bank account for you that funds can be deposited into for the payment of your rent and invoices. Your rent and invoices will be automatically debited from your tenancy wallet on the due date.
A tenancy wallet is suited to rent payments made by a third party (e.g. company, charity) or shared tenancies where multiple renters of the same property can deposit their share of the rent/invoice for the whole amount owed.
The wallet balance is checked daily up to 2 days after the due date. If you are in arrears and top up the wallet with funds, the transaction will be processed within 24hrs of money clearing into your wallet.
How to set up a tenancy wallet
Log in to your tenant mobile App or desktop portal
Select 'RENT' from the menu
Choose 'Add Wallet'
Press 'Continue and set as default' or Cancel to go back
You have now successfully initiated the set up for tenancy wallet.
What happens next?
Bank account details for the tenancy wallet will be visible in your OurTenant App to deposit funds for payment of your rent and invoices.
The day before rent is due, you will be sent an email reminder specifying the $amount due and your current wallet balance.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have enough funds in the wallet to cover the rent/invoice amount plus any fees.
- Rent and invoices will be debited from the tenancy wallet on their due date.
If your balance is less than the amount due an Insufficient Funds Fee* may be added to your next transaction. On the 2nd business day after the due date, the available balance will be deducted along with any incurred fees. Fees are paid first with the residual funds applied to rent or invoices.
If you fall in to arrears, your wallet balance will be checked daily and funds will be debited when your balance is greater than $5 more than any fees owing.
Invoices can be paid prior to the day they are due from the email notifications, and funds will be debited from the tenancy wallet account.
You will be able to see your wallet balance at all times in your Tenant App
Your property manager will have visibility of your wallet balance and wallet bank account details.
